Clawler Fight
How to Play
Game Overview
Clawler Fight is this weird little arcade game where you're this guy trying to survive zombies, but instead of shooting them, you're using a claw machine crane to pick up junk and fling it at their heads. The whole thing feels like someone mashed a carnival game with a zombie survival mode, and it's honestly goofy in the best way. The visual style is cartoony, with bright colors and blocky characters that look like they came out of a mobile game from 2015 -- not fancy, but it works. You swipe to aim the claw, let go to drop it, and whatever you grab -- bricks, barrels, maybe a traffic cone -- gets automatically launched at whatever shambling corpse is closest. The zombies themselves are pretty varied; some are slow, some sprint, and a few explode when they get close, which is annoying. Between waves, you pick cards to upgrade stuff like grip strength or storage width, so you can grab bigger items faster. It's not deep at all, but the loop of "aim, grab, throw, panic" is surprisingly addictive once you get the timing down. I think anyone who enjoys games like Peggle or even those old flash defense games would get hooked -- it's casual enough to pick up for ten minutes but has enough progression to keep you coming back. The vibe is lighthearted despite the zombie theme; it never takes itself seriously, which is refreshing.
About Clawler Fight
Clawler Fight is an arcade game where you control a crane claw from a top-down perspective, swiping to aim and releasing to drop it onto items scattered across the level. Your goal is to grab stuff -- planks, tires, traffic cones, even explosive barrels -- and fling them at zombies shambling toward you. The claw's grip isn't perfect; heavier items might slip if your grip strength is low, and narrow storage width means you can only carry one or two objects before needing to toss them. You swipe to aim, release to drop, and whatever you pick up gets automatically used as a projectile. Simple start, but it gets hectic fast.
The loop is: survive waves of zombies, collect coins and scrap dropped by defeated enemies, and between waves pick a card from a small set to upgrade your character. Cards can boost claw speed, add a chance to double-lift items, or give you a temporary shield. There's no manual aiming for the throws -- the claw swings in an arc, so you need to time releases with the zombie movement. Later levels introduce armored zombies that take multiple hits, spitters that slow your claw's swing speed, and fast runners that zigzag. Level names like Suburban Sprawl and Hospital Hollow hint at the environment -- tighter corridors in the hospital force you to grab smaller objects like IV stands, while suburbs give you lawn chairs and fences.
Difficulty builds through enemy variety and wave composition. Early waves are just a few slow zombies; by wave 10, you'll face a mix of types with different health pools. The satisfying moment comes when you snag a heavy barrel mid-swing and watch it roll through a line of zombies, or when you upgrade your claw's storage width just enough to carry three items at once, letting you rapid-fire. The card system is random-ish -- you get three choices each level-up, but they're pulled from your unlocked pool. Unlocking a new card type costs currency, so you prioritize what fits your style.
Later mechanics include environmental hazards: exploding cars you can purposely hit, or ice patches that make the claw slip. There's a Magnetic Claw upgrade that pulls metal objects toward you slightly, which is huge in levels like Junkyard Jamboree. The game doesn't explain much -- you learn by failing. My first death was embarrassing: I grabbed a tiny pebble and tossed it at a runner, only for it to bounce off. The game's loop kept me trying again, pushing for that next upgrade. It's not deep, but the claw physics are just unreliable enough to keep things interesting.
Tips & Tricks
Early on, the claw's grip strength is way more important than storage width. I spent too many coins on storage and then couldn't lift heavy objects like barrels, which are amazing for clearing groups. Always prioritize grip first.
Don't just swipe randomly -- the claw's aim is a bit floaty, so you need to account for a slight delay. Aim a little ahead of where the item actually is, especially if it's moving. That took me a bunch of tries to figure out.
Cards between waves aren't all equal. The one that lets you grab two items at once is a game-changer once you unlock it. Stacking that with a grip boost makes mid-game so much easier.
Zombies with shields are annoying, but you can pick up a shield yourself from the ground and launch it at them. It breaks their guard instantly. I kept trying to just throw rocks at them and got wrecked.
Resource management matters more than you think. Don't hoard currency for a perfect upgrade -- spend it when you're stuck on a wave. A small upgrade can get you past a bottleneck.
There's a brief invincibility frame right when you pick up an item. If a zombie is about to hit you, time your grab to that split second and you'll avoid damage. It's tricky but saves lives.
Later levels have items hidden behind breakable walls. Smash those with a heavy object first, because inside are often rare cards or extra currency. I missed a ton of stuff early on because I ignored them.
