Later, things like Hex-a-Gone show up: you stomp on hex tiles to stay alive while other players break the floor around you. The satisfying moment is when you land a perfect dive onto a tiny platform just as three other beans tumble past you into the abyss.

The game throws team rounds in too, which are either hilarious or infuriating. Fall Ball is soccer with oversized balls and no physics engine worth trusting. There's Jinxed where one tagged bean has to touch others to spread the curse--pure tag chaos. The difficulty doesn't ramp up linearly; some finals like Jump Showdown are simple spinning beams that get faster, while Roll Off is a giant drum that rotates in unpredictable directions. The real skill is learning the timing of the rotating hammers and the swinging pendulums that show up in later seasons.

Costumes are cosmetic only but there's a battle pass system with crowns you earn from winning. That's the carrot that keeps you coming back. The game also has a grab mechanic which is almost always used to sabotage other players right at the finish line. In team rounds like egg scramble, ignore the chaos and focus on guarding your own nest from the front; most people tunnel-vision on stealing eggs and leave their own wide open. Jumping repeatedly on slippery surfaces like ice or slime actually makes you slide faster in a straight line, which feels wrong but works. When you're in a tail-tag round, learn to cut corners by diving sideways around obstacles--it's a tight turn that jerks your bean just enough to dodge grabs. For the spinning beam levels, count the rotations in your head and time your jump onto the beam right as it passes the midpoint, not when it's fully horizontal. One thing that clicked way too late: the camera angle matters more than you think, so manually rotate it when running on conveyor belts or see-saws to spot incoming obstacles before they pancake you.
