Your fuel gauge isn't a countdown. It's a speedometer. When it's full, you move faster, not longer. So collecting cheese at full gauge doesn't help--store some for when you dip low. I kept dying because I thought more cheese meant more flight time.

Last thing: the moon flag planting has a tiny physics quirk. If you hit the flagpole at an angle, you'll slide off. Approach it straight-on from below, and hold the click as you touch it. Miss that timing and you'll bounce back down--happened to me three times.
