How to Play

Game Overview

So Goblin Jump is this little action game where you're a bunch of goblins trying to break out of a dungeon, but it's way more chaotic than that sounds. The whole thing has this cartoony, hand-drawn look with lots of bright colors and goofy character designs, which fits the vibe because nothing feels super serious. You control your goblin clan by right-clicking to jump left or right, and that's basically your only move, but it gets tricky because you're dodging guards and grabbing treasure while the world throws traps at you. There's this royal sorceress who keeps messing with the environment, like turning shadows into actual hazards, so you're always on edge. It feels like a platformer where timing is everything, but you're also managing a group of goblins that can work together on puzzles, which adds a layer of strategy. The game rewards you with gold and items when you mess up, which is a nice way to keep you from getting frustrated. I think anyone who likes quick-reaction games or enjoys a bit of a challenge with a lighthearted tone would get hooked. The levels are pretty varied, and exploring for secret passages is where the fun really lives. It's not a deep RPG or anything, but it has that "one more try" pull that makes you keep playing.

About Goblin Jump

Goblin Jump isn't about careful platforming -- it's about chaotic, greedy escape. You control a whole little gang of goblins, but only one at a time, and you switch between them by grabbing them or bumping into them. The main thing you're doing is clicking to jump. Right-click on desktop, tap anywhere on mobile. Your goblin arcs left or right depending on which direction you're pointing, and the whole point is to get your whole crew from the dungeon cells to the exit gate in each level.

The early levels, like Damp Cell Block and Guards Pantry,' are pretty simple -- just a few platforms, some wooden crates, and a single lazy guard who patrols in a straight line. But by the time you hit Sorceresss Sanctum,' everything gets nasty. There are pressure plates that trigger arrow traps, swinging axes, and those purple shadow puddles the sorceress leaves behind that slow you down and drain your health. The guards get smarter too -- there are Helmet Heads with shields you can't just jump over, and Hound Masters who release snarling dogs that chase your current goblin.

The satisfying part is when you finally get the timing down. You'll have one goblin standing on a switch that opens a door, while another goblin sneaks past a guard's patrol route to grab a key, and a third is hauling a bag of coins toward the exit. You have to manage all of them because if any goblin gets caught or dies, you restart the whole level. That's the loop -- explore, grab loot, solve simple puzzles, and don't get caught. The loot isn't just cosmetic either; gold unlocks new abilities in the Goblin Workshop like double jump, a short speed burst, and even a decoy that distracts guards for a few seconds.

The game throws more mechanics at you gradually. Later levels have collapsing floors, magic mirrors that teleport you to random spots, and locked treasure rooms that require three keys spread across the map. There's also a Greed Meter that fills up the more gold you grab in a single run -- filling it unlocks a bonus level at the end of each world called The Vault, which is just a ridiculous room packed with gold and traps. Getting through that feels great 💥.

One thing that's annoying is how the goblins sometimes bump into each other and get stuck on geometry, especially when you're trying to be precise. But the chaos is part of the charm. You're not supposed to be a ninja -- you're a goblin, and goblins are clumsy. The game leans into that. There's even an achievement called Oops for accidentally dropping a goblin into a pit.

Tips & Tricks

Timing your jumps matters way more than you think. The guards have a set patrol pattern, but the sorceress's shadow traps shift every few seconds -- wait for the moment they flicker before you leap. I kept dying in the second dungeon because I spammed right-click without watching the ground shadows. A single well-timed jump beats three frantic ones every time. Treasure chests are often bait. The glittering ones in open corridors are usually trapped, while the dull ones hidden behind fake walls hold the real loot. Check walls that look slightly misaligned -- you can right-click into them to break through. Don't hoard gold for the big shop items early on. Spend it on the spring boots first, because they double your jump distance and make those gaping pits in level four survivable. I ignored them and got stuck for an hour. The goblin teamwork puzzles are easier if you remember that one goblin can stand on a pressure plate while another runs past. Swap characters using the number keys -- that trick isn't in the tutorial. Boss fights against the royal sorceress have a pattern where she teleports to the same three spots in order. Memorize those positions, and you can pre-jump into an attack window. Last tip: the game saves only at checkpoints, so dying after a long treasure run means losing everything since your last flag. Don't risk it -- backtrack to a flag if you've got a pile of gold.
