Early levels like "Test Chamber Alpha" are easy -- a few moving platforms, some spinning fans that knock you back, and conveyor belts that push you into walls. You learn fast that one player can stand on a switch while the other runs past a closing door, which feels great when you pull it off. By world two, things get mean. "The Freezer" introduces ice patches that make your minion slide uncontrollably, and you really start to hate those little laser turrets that track your movement. The control setup is simple -- WASD for player one, arrow keys for player two. Spacebar makes you jump, which is critical because later levels like "The Furnace" have rising lava that forces precise timing. There's no upgrade system or health bar -- one hit from a spike, laser beam, or electric floor sends you back to the last checkpoint, and you lose all gold you were carrying. That's the brutal part. You can collect gold bars individually, but you don't get the key until you've gathered every single one in the level. So if one player dies carrying gold, you both have to restart that section. This creates this weird tension where you're yelling at your screen, waiting for your friend to jump across a gap while holding twelve gold bars. The satisfying moment comes in "The Vault" when you finally both reach the giant golden chest at the end after fifteen minutes of screaming. The minions do this little victory wiggle, and it's honestly worth it. The difficulty spike around level eight is real -- there's a puzzle with color-coded pressure plates that requires one player to memorize a sequence while the other dodges homing robots. You'll die a lot. The game doesn't care. But when you and your partner click into a rhythm, it's a good kind of chaos.

Tips & Tricks

One of the first things that tripped up my partner and me was assuming both minions could move independently at full speed. Turns out, the game punishes you hard if one character lags behind -- some doors close automatically after a few seconds, so you need to keep both players roughly in sync. I learned this the hard way when I dashed ahead for a gold bar and got my buddy locked out of a room with three bars inside.

Another trick: some platforms look solid but are actually pressure-activated traps. If you both stand on them at once, they lower safely; step on alone, and you get zapped. That realization changed how we navigated entire levels.

Timing is everything on the conveyor belts. Don't just run -- jump at the right moment to ride them backward and reach hidden gold. We missed about five bars per level before figuring that out.

Also, the key doesn't spawn until every gold bar in that section is collected. So if you're stuck, backtrack methodically instead of running in circles. One bar in our playthrough was tucked behind a fake wall that only flashes for a split second -- watch for subtle glints.

Finally, don't hoard the jump button. Short hops are way more useful than full jumps in tight corridors, especially near saw blades. My partner kept full-jumping and landing on spikes. Annoying, but we laughed about it later.
