How to Play

Game Overview

Police Chase drops you into a neon-lit city where you're basically a getaway driver with a diamond addiction. The visual style is this glossy, almost toy-like aesthetic -- cars are chunky and colorful, streets are slick with rain reflections, and the police cruisers look like angry little beetles. You zoom around collecting diamonds that are scattered everywhere, some in plain sight, others tucked into alleys or behind obstacles. The cops don't mess around either -- they ram into you, box you in, and when you hear that siren noise ratchet up, your heart actually beats a little faster. Controls are simple: arrow keys to steer, space to shoot rockets. But the game feels frantic in a good way. Traffic spawns randomly, so one second you're cruising, the next you're swerving around a bus. Rockets are limited, so you can't just blast everything -- you have to pick your moments. The police seem to scale with how many diamonds you've grabbed, which is annoying but also keeps things tense. Who'd get hooked? Probably anyone who likes arcade racers or chase games, or people who just want something to play for ten minutes without a huge commitment. The music is this thumping electronic beat that fits the whole 'one more try' vibe. It's not deep or complicated -- it's just pure, sweaty-palmed action that makes you feel like you're in a cheesy 80s car chase movie.

About Police Chase

So you're in a car, cops are chasing you, and you need to grab diamonds. That's the whole deal in Police Chase. You drive with arrow keys, shoot with spacebar. Simple enough. The first few levels, like Downtown Dash and Suburban Sprint, are pretty chill. You just dodge a couple of police cars, pick up the shiny stuff, and reach the end. The diamonds are scattered around the map, usually in a line or a cluster, so you're constantly swerving off the main road to grab them. Missing one means going back, which is annoying but not the end of the world.

Around level five, Midnight Pursuit, things get spicy. The cops start coming in waves. They don't just chase you in a straight line anymore--they try to box you in. Two cars from the left, one from the right, and a roadblock ahead. You have to actually think about your route. The spacebar shoots rockets, but you only get three per level at first. Later you can pick up ammo packs that drop from destroyed cop cars, which is a nice touch. The satisfying moment is when you nail a tight turn, shoot a rocket behind you without looking, and hear that explosion. It's cheap but it feels great.

The difficulty curve is weird. Some levels spike hard for no reason. Industrial Zone has these narrow corridors with obstacles, and the cops just ram you from behind. You'll die a lot there. Then Coastal Run is wide open and almost relaxing. There's an upgrade system where you earn stars for completing levels without crashing. More stars unlock better rockets, a faster car, and a shield that blocks one hit. The shield is a lifesaver on Highway Havoc, where cops shoot back at you with their own rockets. Yes, they have rockets too. That level is a nightmare.

The loop is: drive, dodge, shoot, grab diamonds, repeat. Your brain is split between watching the road ahead for obstacles and checking the rearview mirror for cop positions. Your hands are busy tapping left and right to weave through traffic, then slamming spacebar when you hear the siren get loud. There's no health bar--you just die instantly if a cop rams you hard enough or if you hit a wall at full speed. So every turn feels tense. The satisfying moments are when you clear a level with all diamonds and no crashes, hearing that little chime. But honestly, the best part is when you're one diamond away and the cops are closing in, and you just barely make it.

Tips & Tricks

The diamonds aren't just for show. Grabbing a full set in a level unlocks a temporary speed boost that can outrun even the fastest police cruisers. Going for every single one isn't always smart, though -- sometimes a straight dash for the finish line is safer, especially when the sirens get loud.

Rockets are precious. SPACE bar fires them, but you only get three at a time, and they don't appear that often. Save them for when a cop car is right on your bumper -- a well-timed blast clears a path without wasting ammo on distant targets.

Weaving through traffic works better than braking. The arrow keys let you swerve sharply, and civilian cars actually block the police AI for a split second. Use that to create space without slowing down.

That one intersection with the red light? Ignore it. The game doesn't punish you for running lights, and stopping lets the cops catch up. Speed is your best friend here.

Police cars get faster the longer you survive. Around the two-minute mark, even basic cruisers can match your top speed. That's when you need to rely on shortcuts and tight turns -- they're bad at cornering.

There's a hidden ramp in the third city zone that launches you over a row of parked cars. Finding it cut my chase time by nearly ten seconds. Look for painted markings on the road -- they're not just decoration.

Don't panic when the screen shakes. That's just a visual effect for near-misses, not damage. You can actually clip a car's side mirror and keep going fine.
