Pool Float Party

Pool Float Party starts with you picking between two modes -- there''s a quick play option and a party story that chains the activities together. I usually just jump into the story because it makes more sense. The game splits into three main chunks: cocktail making, pool setup, and fashion styling. You don''t get to skip anything, which is fine because each part takes maybe two minutes tops.

The cocktail bit is where you actually do stuff with your hands. You grab ingredients -- soda, lemon slices, lime wedges, mint leaves -- and drag them into a blender. There''s a timing minigame where you have to stop a moving bar in the right zone to get the mix perfect. Mess it up and the drink looks gross, but the game still lets you serve it. The satisfying part is when the blender animation kicks in and the drink turns that perfect greenish-yellow. You do this for each character, and later levels add ice cubes and straws as extra steps.

Pool setup is mostly cleaning and decorating. You click on trash floating in the water, drag a net to scoop leaves, and then place inflatable decorations like flamingos or palm trees. There''s a repair mechanic where you patch holes in the pool liner by tapping on them in sequence -- three holes per level, and they pop up faster as you go. The game calls these "pool patches" and they''re color-coded so you don''t miss one. After that, you pick the inflatable raft from a selection of maybe eight options. Each raft has a different float animation, which is a nice touch.

Fashion styling is the longest section. You dress Blondie in pink stuff -- swimsuits, pareos, sunglasses, hats -- and Marie in red and black with polka dots. There are four outfit slots per character, plus accessories like bracelets and flip-flops. The game doesn''t judge you, so you can mix things weirdly and it still works. You click through categories on a side panel and drag items onto the girls. The satisfying moment is when both outfits are done and the final scene shows them lounging on the rafts with cocktails -- you can save that as a PNG.

Difficulty builds in the cocktail timing -- later levels require faster reflexes on the blender bar. Pool patches also appear in trickier spots. There''s no fail state, which keeps it casual. The game never explains why Blondie only wears pink or why Marie hates it, but that''s part of the charm. Controls are just mouse clicks or taps, no dragging unless you''re moving ingredients. After you finish, you can replay any section from the main menu, but there''s no score or unlockables. It''s more about the vibe than the challenge.
