Obby: Click and Grow
How to Play
Game Overview
So this game is called Obby: Click and Grow, and it's one of those weird mashups that somehow works. You start as this tiny blocky character in a bright, colorful world that looks like a kids' toy set exploded. The whole thing is about clicking to grow bigger, but then you also have to navigate these parkour courses that get trickier as you go. It feels more like a little productivity loop than a serious game--you click, your character gets a bit bigger, you unlock stuff, you try not to fall off platforms. The visual style is super clean and chunky, like building blocks in a sunny playground, with each new location having its own pastel color scheme. There's a pet collection system too, which is cute but not necessary--you can just ignore it if you want. The rebirth mechanic is where it gets interesting: you reset your progress for double trophies, which speeds up growth a lot. The vibe is chill but sneaky competitive because there's a leaderboard, and some people obsess over being the biggest. Honestly, who'd get hooked? Probably anyone who likes idle clicker games but wants a bit more action, or people who enjoy simple 3D platformers without the stress. It's not deep, but it's oddly satisfying to see your character swell up after a few minutes of clicking. The controls are fine on PC with WASD and space, and on mobile the joystick works okay--swiping to rotate the camera helps with those tricky jumps.
About Obby: Click and Grow
So you start off as this tiny little block dude, just hopping around some basic platforms in the first zone called Grassland Gateway. The main loop is simple: you click to grow bigger, and as you get bigger, you can reach higher platforms and smash through certain obstacles. Your brain is mostly focused on timing your jumps and deciding when to spend your clicks on size upgrades versus saving for pets. The pets are a big deal -- there's a fire dog that gives you a burst of growth every few seconds, and a rock golem that makes your clicks count double for a short time. Later on, you unlock the Rebirth system, which resets your size but gives you a permanent trophy multiplier -- that's when the real speedrun mindset kicks in.
Difficulty ramps up in the Lava Caverns level, where platforms disappear after you stand on them for three seconds. Your hands are doing a lot more frantic WASD work, and you're constantly swiping to rotate the camera to spot the next safe spot. The Sky Spires area introduces wind currents that push you sideways, so you have to counter-steer mid-air. There's a particular jump over a spinning pillar of fire that took me like thirty tries -- super satisfying when you finally nail it.
One mechanic that shows up around level four is Growth Gates -- doors that only open when you've reached a certain size. So you might have to grind clicks in a safe corner before you can proceed. The enemies are simple: these bouncy slime guys that knock you back if you touch them, and later there are homing crystals that chase you for a few seconds. The satisfying moments come when you chain a perfect jump sequence through five shrinking platforms right as your Rebirth multiplier kicks in, watching your size bar shoot up. There's also a daily challenge called Trophy Rush where you have to collect thirty trophies scattered across a randomized course within two minutes -- that gets intense.
The leaderboard is competitive based on total trophies and fastest level completions. Honestly, the game doesn't handhold you after the first few levels -- you figure out optimal click timing and jump arcs on your own. The blocky graphics are charming but the real draw is that gradual power fantasy of going from a speck to a giant that can bulldoze through walls.
Tips & Tricks
When you first start clicking, don't waste your trophies on the first pet you see. Stack up a few levels of the basic size upgrade first -- it makes the early parkour sections way easier since your hitbox actually snaps onto platforms better. I kept dying because I was too small to grab ledges properly. The rebirth system is tempting to use immediately, but waiting until you've unlocked at least three locations gives way more trophies per reset, which snowballs faster than you'd think. For the jumping puzzles in the lava zone, hold down the jump button slightly longer than you think you need to -- there's a hidden extra airtime that the game doesn't explain. Pets aren't just cosmetic; some of the rarer ones increase your click multiplier by a lot, so check the pet menu carefully before buying. The daily gift timer resets at a weird hour that might not be midnight for you -- I missed three days in a row because I assumed it was local time. Swiping to rotate the camera on mobile is essential for judging platform distances, but on PC, middle-click dragging works way better than arrow keys. Finally, if you get stuck on a specific trial, try clicking the character repeatedly during the loading screen -- it sometimes gives a secret speed boost for the first few platforms. Sounds dumb, but it saved me on world four.
