Then around the 2000-meter mark, obstacles start showing up -- these red barriers that sit right at the apex of a turn, forcing you to let go early or hold through a weird angle. Later, moving obstacles appear, like swinging arms that you have to time your release around. The roads also get narrower, which makes the margin for error tiny. There are four cars to unlock: the starter "Blaze" handles pretty neutral, then you get "Shadow" which is more slidey and harder to control but gives a bigger score multiplier, "Viper" which is a middle ground, and "Phoenix" which is the fastest and most twitchy. Each one costs coins, and you earn coins by surviving longer and chaining combos -- but the coins themselves appear on the road, so you have to decide whether to risk a drift off the optimal line to grab a coin cluster.

The combo system is straightforward: every drift you link adds a multiplier to your score. Let the combo timer run out and it resets. Coins spawn in patterns, not randomly. After a few runs you'll notice clusters appear right before a tricky bend. Grabbing those is tempting, but if it messes up your drift timing, skip them. One bad crash wipes out way more potential coins than a missed cluster.

The Blaze car you start with handles differently from the Phoenix you unlock later. Blaze is twitchy--great for quick corrections but awful for long slides. Phoenix has more momentum, so you need to start your drift earlier. I kept crashing until I adjusted my timing by about half a second.

Combos reset if you go too straight for even a second. The game is stingy about this. I lost a 15x multiplier because I hit a straightaway and didn't tap to keep a tiny slide going. Even a slight wobble counts as a drift--so keep the car wiggling on those rare straight parts.
