Some are behind bushes, others are up on ledges you need trampolines to reach, and a few are inside caves that monsters guard. The main loop is pretty simple: you run around, look for the fuzzy little guys, and when you spot one, you just walk into it to collect it. But the map's huge and the game doesn't give you a direct path, so you're constantly scanning the environment for clues--like a weird rock formation or a break in the trees that might hide a capybara.

Early on, you've got basic movement with WASD and Space to jump. The trampolines are these bouncy pads on the ground--they shoot you way up, but you have to time your jump when you hit them to get the super height. It's a bit tricky at first because if you just land on them, you don't go as high. The difficulty kicks in when you start finding zones with enemies. There's these giant walking mushrooms that chase you slowly, and later there are flying eyeballs that shoot projectiles. You can't kill them permanently--just stun them with your slap weapons. The giant hand slap has a wide arc, the toilet paper roll is a ranged attack that flings forward, and the bream fish is a weird one that makes a splat sound and stuns anything in front of you. I mostly stuck with the toilet paper because you can hit enemies from a safe distance.

The satisfying moments come when you chain movements together--like springing off a trampoline, then activating your magic carpet mid-air to glide across a gap, then landing right next to a capybara that was hidden on a rooftop. The speed spring and jump spring power-ups show up later, and they let you dash forward or get an extra high jump, which opens up areas you couldn't reach before. There's a swamp area called the Mire of Misery that's full of these lizard monsters that burrow underground and pop up under you, and you have to use the dash to avoid them while grabbing capybaras from wooden platforms. As you collect more capybaras, you unlock skins--like one that makes your character look like a ninja or one with a cowboy hat. The game doesn't really explain where the capybaras are, so you end up checking every corner, and sometimes you find one in a spot you already passed ten times but missed because it was behind a tree. The map has these hidden caves with puzzles--like stepping on pressure plates in the right order to open a door to a capybara. It's not a hard game, but it keeps you on your toes because the monsters get faster and the platforms get narrower. Eventually you're zipping around with the speed spring, slapping eyeballs with toilet paper, and hunting down the last few capybaras that are tucked away in the most ridiculous places, like on top of a giant statue in the center of the map.

Tips & Tricks

The trampolines aren't just for bouncing straight up. You can actually steer in mid-air a little after you hit one, which lets you reach platforms that look just out of range. I wasted a lot of tries before realizing that.

Monsters have a cooldown after you slap them with the bream fish, but it's shorter than you think. Don't stand there admiring your work--sprint away immediately or they'll grab you right back.

That magic carpet power-up is a lifesaver in the swamp area, but it only lasts about ten seconds. Plan your route before you pick it up, or you'll end up floating into a monster pit with no escape.

Capybaras sometimes hide behind objects that look solid but aren't. There's one behind a fake tree stump near the big waterfall that you can just walk through. Check every unusual cluster of rocks or bushes.

The speed spring dash is great, but it has a nasty habit of launching you off cliffs if you're not careful. Use it only when you have a clear line of sight to solid ground.

Jump springs stack with trampolines if you activate them at the exact right moment. Time it so you hit the spring right as you land on the trampoline--you'll rocket up to a hidden cave with three capybaras inside.

If you're stuck on a monster chase, remember you can jump over most of them with a well-timed Space bar. Their attack patterns are predictable once you watch for the wind-up animation.
