Obby Papa Pizzas Escape
How to Play
Game Overview
So my buddy and I tried Obby Papa Pizzas Escape last night, and it's basically this chaotic co-op where you're two weird little guys--Obby and Bacon--trying to run away from an angry chef in a pizzeria. The kitchen is a mess of rolling pins, cheese puddles, and these giant dough balls that bounce around like they're alive. You've got to grab all the pizza slices scattered across the floor while dodging this chef who's constantly chasing you. The visual style is pretty cartoony, lots of bright reds and yellows, and everything has this wobbly, silly animation that makes the whole thing feel like a fever dream. What surprised me is how much communication matters--you can't just run around randomly because Bacon has a sword throw that stuns the chef for a few seconds, but the timing is tight and you need to coordinate. One person distracts while the other collects pizzas, or you both panic and bump into each other. It gets frantic fast, especially when the chef speeds up. The sound effects are goofy too, like cartoon boings and sizzles. Who'd get hooked? Honestly, anyone who likes Overcooked but wants something simpler and dumber--this is pure, stupid fun with a friend. It's not deep or polished, but for a quick laugh and some shouting, it works great.
About Obby Papa Pizzas Escape
So you and a buddy are stuck in this goofy pizza kitchen with a chef who''s clearly had enough of your nonsense. The game''s called Obby Papa Pizzas Escape, and it''s a two-player co-op thing where one person controls Obby (the square-ish pizza dude) and the other controls Bacon (the sword-wielding gremlin). You''re both running around these levels trying to collect all the scattered pizzas while not getting caught by Chef Papa Pizza, who shuffles after you like a angry bowling pin.
The loop is basic at first: move with WASD if you''re player one or arrow keys if you''re player two, grab the pizzas that are lying around the kitchen, then sprint for the big red exit door. But the chef''s not just a slow walker -- he''ll speed up when you get close, and later levels add things like rolling dough balls that knock you back, puddles of hot cheese that slow you down, and these swinging pots that basically one-shot you if you''re not paying attention. There''s a level called "The Grease Trap" where the floor gets slippery and you have to time your jumps over oil slicks. Another one called "The Pizza Press" has these moving crushers that squish you flat if you linger.
Your main trick is Bacon''s sword throw. Press P (or tap a button on mobile) and a sword flies out and stuns the chef for a couple seconds. But you''ve got to aim it -- it''s not auto-targeting, so you have to line it up while the chef''s charging at you. That''s the satisfying part: nailing a stun just as your partner is about to grab the last pizza. If you miss, the chef grabs whoever''s closest and it''s game over for that run. You respawn but the pizza count resets to zero, which is frustrating.
Difficulty ramps up around level 4, "The Conveyor Chaos," where you''ve got moving belts messing with your movement and the chef gets a new move where he throws his hat like a boomerang. Later levels introduce timed doors that shut after a few seconds, so you have to coordinate who grabs which pizza first. There''s no upgrade system -- you get the same sword throw the whole time. What changes is the kitchen layout and how fast the chef gets. By level 8, "The Oven''s Maw," he''s almost as fast as you and the floor''s half lava pits.
Mobile controls are touch joysticks, which work okay but aren''t great for precise sword throws. The game''s short, like 10 levels, but you''ll probably replay the later ones a bunch since one screw-up wipes your pizza progress. The real hook is yelling at your friend when they miss the stun.
Tips & Tricks
The chef''s pathing is predictable once you notice it -- he always heads toward the nearest player, so you can bait him away from your partner who''s grabbing pizzas. Bacon''s sword throw stuns for a solid three seconds, but the cooldown is longer than you''d think. Don''t waste it on a single enemy if you can line up the chef with a stack of obstacles or a narrow hallway. Rolling dough balls are the worst -- they bounce off walls at random angles, so keep moving unpredictably instead of trying to block them. I kept dying at the cheese pit section until I realized you can jump over the bubbling spots if you time it right; the visual cue is a slight color change before it erupts. The red exit door doesn''t open until every last pizza is collected, so leave the one that''s in a risky spot near the chef for last. Mobile controls are actually fine for movement, but throwing the sword on a phone is awkward -- tap the button twice quickly to guarantee it fires. If you''re stuck on the conveyor belt level, have one player run ahead to activate the platforms while the other stays back to stun the chef. It''s not a race; coordination beats speed every time.
